I Find It Strange That Some Doctors Would Rather You Be On Pills Than To Actually Cure An Injury?

Ok this is really confusing to me. I have an injury that can be fixed with surgery , that out come is 90% that I will be better. The thing is that all the doctors I go to want me to be on pain pills. Why do some doctors treat patients and not cure patients.. We have have enough knowledge in this world. Is it that want you to be addicted so you keep coming back or is it just because I am getting lazy treatment.

I Would Really Like Some Advice From Anyone Who Recieved A Back Injury At Work. How Do I Max My Compensation?

I hurt my back in work in 2000 and since then I have been unable to work full time. I have suffered dreadful pain over this period and am now at a point where I dont know where to turn. I am on welfare since the accident. I seeked legal advice back then and things were ok until I went to see a back specilist. First time I went to see him he sent a report saying that my injury wasn’t work related. However I pushed it a little and asked him to send me for a CT scan. He did and it showed that I indeed had an injury to my spine. In his report he said that my injury was due to my accident, but was also due to weight gain and sediment lifestyle. But my weight gain and my sediment lifestyle is due to the fact that I find it difficult to exercise as much as I used to. My legal advise is that if this report was taken to court it would not be enough to make a good case. Is there anyone out there that could give me some advise what I should do. My life seems to have ended in 2000. Thanks Tom

Can Anyone Assist Me In Relation To Sciatica For My 84 Yo Mum – Constantly In Pain Want Some Alternatives?

Has she been diagnosed? I had a herniated disc 34 years ago (I was 19.) It caused unbearable sciatica down one leg. HOT nerve pain. At the end, I could only lie down. I couldn’t sit or stand. I finally had the surgery (a laminectomy.)
Is this the same thing as your Mum’s? If she’s otherwise in good health, the surgery now is SO different! It’s just done with lasers. Or you might want to try acupuncture, or a holistic doctor (be careful-don’t let them take you for a ride $$$.) First talk to someone in a health food store. They might have help for her.
What does her doctor say?? You may want a second opinion. I hope something I said can help your poor Mum. You’re a good son. Good luck to her. Btw, the surgery worked like a miracle. And no problems since.
