Thursday, December 17th, 2009Yes. It’s nerve pain. I got rid of mine through stretching exercises and yoga, but I had it for months before I found out I could help myself. Medications can help, but not all that much. They just dull the symptoms a bit. There is a prescription Lidocaine patch that numbs it, and that’s helpful.

It also depends on the cause of the sciatica.
If it radiates all the way into your feet, more than likely you are having a pelvis or lumbar disc problem.
If it only travels to the knee, you have facet syndrome which is a nerve impingement where the nerve exits the spine.
Most of the time, sciatica is a treatable condition. A chiropractor will be able to realign your pelvis and vertebra to correct this condition (unless it is being caused by a bulging disc).
