Saturday, January 30th, 2010Sciatica hurts from your bum to the middle of your foot. It is usually a sharp, throbbing pain that doesn’t abate with rest. If it is your objective is to relax the muscles around it to cause them to relax and quit pinching the Sciatic Nerve. Massage will help. Wednesday, January 27th, 2010If it is true sciatica, it can be helped by a massage therapist and or physical therapist.
I’m a licensed massage therapist. I’ve helped countless people get rid of their sciatic pain and keep it away permanently. See a competent therapist in your area.
If it is not true sciatica and it’s actually coming from an impinged nerve in your back I would recommend seeing a chiropractor first. A chiropractor can often cure sciatic pain with adjustments. Sometimes they will recommend massage or physical therapy in conjunction.
B-6 and Niacin taken at the same time have done wonders for my raw nerves. This is supposed to help rebuild the protective sheath that surrounds many nerves in your body.
A back surgeon will most likely recommend surgery first, this should be your last resort in my opinion. Results are not certain and can cause more problems that are sometimes permanent.
Not sure if you have true sciatica; a competent chiropractor, massage therapist, or physical therapist can do a simple test to tell. If they don’t know the test, go see someone else.

Did Anyone Experience Sciatica Pain In Your Left Leg And Hind Quarters Get Relief By Sitting On A Pillow?
Saturday, January 23rd, 2010I’ve had sciatic pain in my left leg and hind quarters, as you put it, for about 8 months now. The pain is worst when I lie flat on my back. I’ve been told that nerves heal very slowly – about half an inch a month. At that rate, it’s going to take a long time to heal. I have tried everything to relieve the pain – and nothing works. Slowly it will just get better. If sitting on a pillow makes you feel better, then sit on a pillow as much as you can. Do what ever makes you feel better until the nerve heals. Nerve pain is definitly up there with the worst. Good luck.

Sunday, January 17th, 2010I suffered a Sciatica pain about three months ago. Got partial relief after physiotherapy but the numbness, in lower part of the leg till bottom of toe, still persists. With passage of time it is giving signs of further increase.
During almost the same period, suffered a frozen-shoulder on left side with unbearable pain at different angles besides restricted movements.
Are both these problems interlinked?
