Stretches For Sciatica?
I have had a pain down my leg for about 7 weeks, I know it is sciatica. Does anyone know of any stretches or exercises I can do to make it go away. Will it go away. Can it do any other damage if I return to the gym.

If you have sciatica issues then something in your back is wrong (slip’d or herniated disk compressing on your nerve) and its going to take a good look see to figure that out and once that is done only then can you get the proper exercises to help you strengthen your back.
To help ease the pain, (being that its already travel’d down the leg), you could take something to help relieve the swelling (advil, motrin or something of the like) and ice. Heat tends to irritate the nerve so dont use that.
I have this same problem and usually end up in the Clinic for a cortisone shot in the back and I take Magnesium Pills (over the counter) to help with the pain … what a god send those pills are. Take two in the morning and two at night (I recommend daily and take with food) and find out from a physical therapist what sort of exercises are good for your specific back issue.
So in short, this is not going to go away on its own and a few simple stretches arent going to help. You really so need to have this looked at and get the proper care then you can manage the issue after that point. Bless … I so know the pain you are talking about and I feel for you!
